Payne Boxing Named Manager of Year for Second Consecutive Year

Charlotte, NC – For the second consecutive year, the fans have spoken and Payne Boxing Management has been voted as the top boxing management firm in North Carolina., operated by boxing analyst Chris Williams, administers the awards each year. The 2018 votes were announced live on the website at 10 am on January 1, 2019.


“It is an absolute honor to be recognized as manager of the year for the second year in a row,” said Gardner Payne, CEO of Payne Boxing, LLC. “We have a great team who works tirelessly on behalf of our boxers. This entire team deserves credit for this tremendous honor”.

The four boxers Payne Boxing represented in 2018 went for a combined 16-0-1 and fought in boxing arenas in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and the Dominican Republic. Payne Boxing fighter, Alberto Palmetta, also won the WBA FedeaCaribe Welterweight Title. Payne Boxing added two additional fighters to its team in December 2018. announced over 1500 fans voted on the yearly awards. In addition to manager of the year, boxers represented by Payne Boxing received the following honors:

Jose Ibarra – Newcomer of the Year

Kelvin King – Round of the Year for his first round knockout of Derek Hyatt

Marcos Escudero – Fight of the Year for his February 23 victory over Brad Austin in Charlotte, NC.

Don Tuner, Ibarra’s trainer, won trainer of the Year and Christy Martin Promotions was recognized as Promoter of the Year. Payne Boxing was a proud sponsor of all of Christy Martin Promotion’s shows in 2019.
